It was a dream come true. Slightly Stoopid throwing an all-inclusive beach party in Mexico, what could have been better? The first ever Closer to the Sun was an unforgettable experience for both fans and artists that featured incredible weather, epic musical collaborations, and a family-like vibe that solidified it as a truly special event. You could feel the magic in the air from the moment we arrived at the resort!

Bringing together fans and artists, the innagural Closer to the Sun hosted a handful of activities including the Guac' off Gaucamole Making Contest judged by members of Dirty Heads and Citizen Cope, G. Love's Special Hot Sauce Workshop, a basketball tournament, and other fun extras. The location in Mexico's beautiful Mayan Riviera also offered us the chance to get out and explore on snorkeling trips, Mayan ruin tours, zip-lining, and other exciting excursions.

On top of all the sunshine, activities, and other extras, our Closer to the Sun experience was rooted in the music, and the bands sure did not disapoint! The resort was brimming with energy from the minute G. Love & Special Sauce took the stage on the first night to Steel Pulse's event closing set on the final night. In between, we were treated to many amazing musical moments including 3 shows from Slightly Stoopid, one of which was a rare acoustic set as the sun set over the beach (watch "I Know You Rider" here). Other memorable highlights included G. Love joining Stoopid for "Baby I Like It", Dirty Heads playing though the rain (and us loving every second of it!), and other collaborations and bits of excitment.

See you next year!
